Mitchell Shire Council is located on the northern outskirts of Melbourne and is one of Victoria's fastest growing regional municipalities. We are currently seeking to appoint an Independent Member for aour Audit and Risk Committee commencing October 2020.
The Audit and Risk Committee has been established to advise Council on issues involving external financial reporting, internal and external audit, internal control and risk management, compliance and ethics, fraud prevention and corporate governance in accordance with the Audit and Risk Committee Charter.
Candidates will have a broad range of skills and experience in a complex business environment relevant to the context of a growth Council. Compliance and Risk Management qualifications and experience with an understanding of internal audit functions in a public sector environment will be well regarded.
Successful candidates will be paid a fee for attending/preparing for meetings. The Committee meets in Broadford or Wallan, a minimum of 4 times per year.
