Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠This tender is for Contract 2020-21/08 for the construction of pavement replacement at Maitland Street, Narrabri in the Narrabri Shire Council (NSC) local government area.


The general scope of work for the contract is as follows:
1. Pavement construction
a) Milling existing bitumen/asphalt wearing course (variable depth) to stockpile,
b) Excavation of existing base layer (sandy clay material) to stockpile,
c) Removal of concrete pedestrian crossings,
d) Excavation and backfill of pavement artefacts (pole foundations, root balls, bollard foundations,
etc) and backfill with NSC supplied gravel material,
e) Removal of nominated garden bed areas,
f) Replacement of nominated kerbs and construction of new kerbs and laybacks/ramps,
g) Repaving of affected pedestrian areas,
h) Installation of 100mm PVC conduit between garden beds (at pedestrian crossings), capped for
future use,
i) Cut to fill existing select material to required sub-base level. Placement and compaction subbase
layer with NSC supplied gravel material as required,
j) Construction of full depth asphalt pavement layers. (AC20 deep lift, AC10 PMB wearing course),
k) Construction of hydrant, stop valve and stop cock surface boxes.
2. Roundabouts (Dewhurst & Doyle Streets)
a) Pavements to be reconstructed as per above requirements (Pavement construction),
b) Median kerbs repaired/replaced as nominated in the project drawings,
c) Placement of concrete infill and bull nose concrete on centre-medians,
d) Roundabout paved aprons and concrete kerbs to be replaced with new concrete works.
3. Roundabouts (Lloyd and Bowen Streets)
a) Mill areas trenched and patched during watermain construction to 150mm depth x 1m wide,
b) Place and compact AC20 patch at 150mm depth to milled area,
4. Pavement markings for carparks and pedestrian crossings and placement of RRPM's for hydrants.
5. Protection of existing structures and public safety.
This is a Quality Assured Contract with method of payment being by Schedule of Rates. The General Conditions
of Contract shall be AS 4000.1997, as amended in Part B of the annexure to the General Conditions of Contract.
Special Conditions of Contract are included as Part 3.2 of the Contract documents.
The Contract is to be completed within eighteen (18) weeks of the acceptance of the tender.
