Essential Energy is seeking EOI for potential buyers to acquire two 25MW gas turbines in Broken Hill (Generator). Essential Energy has appointed PwC Australia to undertake a sale process commencing in July 2020, with binding offers due in the second half.
Under the long term ownership of Essential Energy, the Generator has been used to solely provide backup supply to Broken Hill, has low run hours and have been maintained in good work order. Potential buyers are expected to be able to fully utilise the commercial value of the assets.
The Generator is expected to suit range of potential buyers as they include opportunities to provide grid support, backup power supply and also support existing renewable portfolios.
