Request for Proposal - Helensville WWTP Pond 1 Desludging Works

⁠⁠⁠Sludge pond number one (pond 1) at the Helensville Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) is at its sludge holding capacity and requires desludging to ensure treatment efficiency is maintained and to prevent odour complaints.

Watercare are looking to procure a suitably qualified contractor with an ingenuitive methodology to remove as much sludge as possible from pond 1, dewater and transport it to the contractor nominated disposal point in alignment with the project budget and specifications.

The key outcomes from this project are not only to remove as much sludge as possible from the pond but also to collaboratively produce a methodology and equitable basis of payment.

Helensville WWTP's pond 1 is unique, however we expect that suitable contractors will be able to provide an efficient solution which has the potential to be replicated elsewhere.
