Sheffield Visitor Information Centre Redevelopment: Planning Phase Request for Quotations

⁠⁠⁠Kentish Council is seeking quotes from suitably qualified interior building designers to provide initial plans for the re-development of the interior of the Sheffield Visitor Information Centre (SVIC) at 5 Pioneer Crescent, Sheffield.

These plans will take the form of a proposed interior floor plan, interior design concept and budget for the proposed building works.

The building is currently occupied by both SVIC and Working Art Space Sheffield (WASS), however, the rear ‘gallery’ space of the building will be vacated by WASS once the Sheffield Arts Centre works at 6 Pioneer Crescent are complete.

Hence, the aim of this redevelopment is to redesign the interior of the SVIC building, including the gallery space, providing a Centre that will meet the current and future needs of visitors, increasing dwell time and sales, and leaving visitors with an enhanced
understanding of the area, providing more opportunity for advocacy of the Centre and the region after visitors have left.

This project has been made possible through the Local Government Loans Program, which encourages local governments to upgrade, renovate and improve existing local government infrastructure as well as employ Tasmanians and assist with COVID-19 recovery.

The closing date and time for lodgement of a quotation is midnight Sunday 19 July 2020.
