Hire of Plant Without Operator (Dry Hire)

⁠⁠⁠Eurobodalla Shire Council is seeking expressions of interest for dry hiring the following items of plant:
- 4 WD backhoe (8 tonne operating weight)
- 5-6 tonne excavator
- 14 tonne excavator
The initial hire period would be three months, with possible extension.

Weekly and monthly hire rates are to be submitted, based on Council staff generally working a 78-hour, nine-day, fortnight.
Stand-down conditions and rates, if any, should also be submitted for any wet days or "no use" periods.
We are also seeking establishment costs to Moruya Works Depot, 210 Araluen Road, Moruya, and disestablishment. Council has a low loader, and we would be selecting the most cost-effective option.
During hire, the plant items would be:
- Transported between work sites by Council low loader or tilt tray, or occasionally a third-party
- Stored in compounds or works depots
- Operated by competent operators, and operators gaining experience supervised by competent operators.
The plant items are subject to mechanical compliance checks by Council workshop staff, and must have the following prior to any hire:
- conditional registration prior to commencement of hire
- plant insurance, specifying cover for dry hire
- $20 million public liability insurance
- Reverse alarms
- Rotating amber beacons

Council may select directly from the responses provide or undertake further market testing.

Any contract issued is subject to Council being satisfied of the suppliers ability to appropriately manage Chain of Responsibility/Heavy Vehicle National law risks.

Whilst the proposed contract(s) is/are not being established under Council's Plant Hire Panel Terms consistent with the Conditions of Agreement (as they relate to during the contract) shall apply.
