Hort Innovation is a not-for-profit, grower-owned Research and Development Corporation (RDC) for Australia’s $14.4 billion horticulture industry. Hort Innovation invests around $110 million in research and development (R&D) and marketing programs annually to provide benefit to industry and the wider community.

Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and capable delivery partner for the project Market Intelligence Reports Melons Non-Protocol Markets (VM18005).

The objectives of the services being sought is to access trade performance information and the broader macroeconomic trading environment. This is to ensure that the melon industry remains informed on the issues and considerations that may affect current and future trade and market performance. Market Intelligence reports will assist in the continued development of non-protocol export markets, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and UAE for Australian melons. This project is intended to fund market intelligence for growers to build industry capacity to make informed business decisions and to create new opportunities for trading internationally.

The key objectives of this program are to:
• Analyse market intelligence trade data for the Australian melon (muskmelon and watermelon) industry for non-protocol markets.
• Summarise industry trade performance and identify and evaluate key industry and global influences affecting trade outcomes over the reporting period(s).
• Provide insight in the global competition, price points, varieties, competitive analysis, consumption of imports from other countries, seasonality, packaging and the perceptions of product in the market.
