University of Canberra (UC) has statutory obligations to manage and maintain a register of all HazMat and Dangerous Goods on campus, including a review and update the HazMat (including Asbestos Contaminated building materials) register every 5 years.
The last review was conducted in June to August 2015, a further review and updated register is required before August 2020. To ensure that UC manage and operate a healthy and safe workplace for its staff, students and visitors, UC is also required to regularly monitor the Indoor Air Quality in the buildings.
To meet the above obligations and minimise any potential health and safety risks on campus, UC also needs to have a HazMat and Dangerous Goods Management Plan, which incorporate the monitoring of indoor air quality on campus.
