Philip Street Retirement Living EOI

⁠⁠⁠The Gladstone Region is experiencing a lack of diversity and availability of aged care accommodation options. This is creating flow on impacts socially within the community as the lack of facilities results in retirees seeking accommodation outside the Gladstone Region.

GRC is currently developing land at Philip Street Gladstone (Lot 7 on SP 298866) for a Philip Street Families and Communities Precinct (https://www.gladstone.qld.gov.au/philip-street-precinct).

A copy of the current development approval “Preliminary Approval & Reconfiguring a Lot – Matrial Change of Use of Premises for various Precincts & Development Permit for Reconfiguring of Lot (1 Into 67 Lots)” is contained in Attachment A. This includes a Preliminary Approval Development Code which sets the development intent and provisions for several precincts over the site. GRC’s Stage 1 works are due to be complete by June 2021.

GRC is considering offering the use of land within Lot 7 on SP 298866 (in the area identified on Attachment B) for development of a new aged care facility.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads are also undertaking works to duplicate Philip Street directly adjacent to the site (https://www.tmr.qld.gov.au/Projects/Name/G/Gladstone-Benaraby-Road-Philip-Street-Widening-Project). This will involve the signalisation of Reef Street, Philip Street and the future Dave Burns Drive (into the subject site)
