Proponents are requested to demonstrate the capacity to manage slipway operations for a range of vessels. The slipway will have the primary function of providing slipway services for paddle steamers and houseboats within a 300km stretch of the Murray River centred on the Port of Echuca.
The existing slipway structure was built over 100 years ago and requires specific works detailed in the engineering report to the RFP. Proponents are requested to submit a business case that demonstrates financial capacity to fund a capital works program for the repair and upgrade of the slipway structure to a standard capable of servicing commercial vessels up to 150 tonnes.
The RFP process will conclude with the selection of a preferred Proponent to enter into negotiations with a view to offering a lease for a term of up to 50 years commensurate with the capital works program, in accordance with the Crown Land Management Act 2016.
