EOI - Town of Walkerville Council Assessment Panel

⁠⁠⁠The Town of Walkerville seeks professionals that are passionate about what they do and want to make a positive difference to the lives of our community.

The Town of Walkerville has a number of vacancies on the Council Assessment Panel (CAP) from 1 July 2020 and is seeking expressions of interest from members of the public seeking to become independent Members of Deputy Members of the CAP.

The Town of Walkerville CAP has been operating successfully, acting as the relevant authority, making decisions on planning applications delegated to it by the Council. The CAP also advises the Council on development assessment trends and issues. The Independent Members and Deputy Members will be appointed to the CAP for a two year period. The CAP meets on the second Monday of each month at 5:30pm. As required by the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 (PDI Act) the Panel consists of five (5) members, with four (4) independent of Council.

Persons interested in applying should have an interest in town planning, must have excellent working knowledge of the Development Act and PDI Act, and appropriate and relevant qualifications and experience. It is anticipated that Independent Members may come from the fields of planning, architecture, landscape architecture, civil engineering, planning law, building, environmental planning, or similar and be eligible to be a Level 2 Accredited Professional under the PDI Act.

While not mandatory, preference will be given to people who live in or have a sound knowledge of the issues relating to the Council area. The Independent Member positions will be remunerated.
