Tender Description

Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) seeks full applications from suitably skilled applicants to develop and deliver sessions on vaccinations and pain mitigation to the livestock advisor sector through the Livestock Advisor Updates platform.

Four sessions are to be developed including two on Pain Mitigation in Practice and two on Vaccination in Practice. Under each of these two topics, one of the sessions will be tailored for cattle, sheep and goat production in the southern and western regions and the other for cattle production in the northern region. Fact sheets on each session will also be developed for distribution at the events.

Three of the southern cattle/sheep/goat sessions will be delivered at Livestock Advisor Updates events in 2020; two in southern Australia (NSW and Victoria) and one in Western Australia (Perth). Delivery of one of the northern cattle sessions will be required in northern Australia (Brisbane). Based on attendance at 2019 events, it is anticipated that attendees of Livestock Advisor Updates events will include agricultural advisors/consultants, researchers, public sector extension/advisors, livestock agents veterinarians, and agribusiness product suppliers. The anticipated length of the Vaccination in Practice session is 30-40 minutes including questions, while Pain Mitigation in Practice is 20 minutes including questions.

Specifics to be covered in the sessions are further outlined in the Terms of Reference. Applicants can choose to tender for both sessions or for either the southern or northern sessions.
