Tender Description
Western Downs Regional Council is calling for expressions of interest from local artists to design two unique trophies to enhance the annual Regional Australia Day Awards.
Specifications
• Participants to provide concept artwork for the Regional Citizen of the Year and Regional Young Citizen of the Year Australia Day Awards
• Concepts to be received by Council by close of business on Friday 26 June 2020 to the attention of Lavinia Tyrrell
• Unsuccessful concept artwork will be returned to the Participant no later than 30 September 2020
• Price for the finished trophies must be stated clearly as a total including GST (if applicable)
• Price is for design and supply – artist will provide all materials necessary
• The trophies must be long lasting and durable with possible mediums including (but not limited to) wood, ceramic, glass, metal, image that can be transposed onto a 3D medium
• Size of finished artwork must be stated
• Materials must be stated – no hazardous mediums
Selection Criteria
• The trophy design evokes the true spirit of the Western Downs through a unique and creative concept
• The trophy celebrates the iconic character and features of the Western Downs
• The trophy allows for the inclusion of or the inscription of the Award name, the year and the recipient’s name The winning Participant/s must deliver the finished trophies by 1 December 2020
• The Participants must reside within the Western Downs Regional Council boundaries
• Price will be a consideration in the selection of the successful submission
Ownership and Copyright
The winning Participant/s will be required to sign an agreement that confirms the participant owns the copyright and/or that the work they are submitting is their own original work.
Copyright of the final design will remain with the artist, who will grant Western Downs Regional Council an exclusive licence to award the trophy to the winners and to re-produce the final work for marketing and promotional purposes. The trophy will remain the property of the Australia Day Award Winner upon presentation to the recipient. Participant’s Responsibilities Once commissioned, Western Downs Regional Council requires the Participant to:
• Undertake the delivery of the two artworks within the agreed production schedule
• Create the two trophies as per the approved concept design
