Tender Description
The Red Meat and Wool Growth Program is an initiative of the SA Government investing $7.5 million in the red meat and wool sector. The program aims to:
- Rebuild the SA sheep flock and beef herd to enable consistent high quality product to processors and to meet growing international market demand;
- Increase business acumen and skills in business, farm management and data based decision making of livestock producers to build business resilience;
- Facilitate the use of agricultural technology by livestock producers, key saleyards and processors to improve data based decision making and drive productivity improvements;
- Enhance market access to enable producers to demonstrate the safety, welfare and quality of SA produce to meet premium market requirements;
- Improve the biosecurity culture across industry, thereby decreasing disease, increasing survivability and in-turn increasing productivity.
To achieve success in these areas the program is divided into three pillars - Improving Productivity and Profitability (IPP), Install Infrastructure and Enhance Market Access.

The IPP Pillar will develop an extension/adoption focused program that will build business resilience through increased business acumen and skills; use of technology for data based decision making; and improved productivity efficiency.
This invitation to supply relates specifically to the Livestock Enterprise Planning component of the IPP, through which the Red Meat and Wool Growth Program establish a panel of providers to deliver upskilling of producers in the following aspects of business management:
- Financial;
- Productivity;
- Risk management and resilience;
- People and business; and
- Use of technology for data based decision making.
PIRSA is seeking a panel of providers that can prepare and deliver the Livestock Enterprise Planning program to assist producers to build business resilience through increased business acumen and skills; use of technology for data-based decision making; and improved productivity efficiency.
Key outputs for producers engaged in the Livestock Enterprise Planning are a Business and Technology Action Plan. Providers of the Livestock Enterprise Planning program will assist producers to prepare their Business and Technology Action Plan, which must identify the actions required for business change and/or the adoption of technology to be implemented in their farm business.
