Tender Description

Fairfield City is located 32 kilometres South-West of the Sydney Central Business District (CBD), covers an area of some 104 square kilometres, incorporating 27 suburbs and is bounded by the Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Penrith, Liverpool, Cumberland, Canterbury Bankstown and Blacktown.
Fairfield City is home to approximately 207,000 people and is one of NSW's most populous Local Government Area.
Council is a body politic constituted under the Local Government Act 1993 with the general functions set out in the Local Government Act and is enable to enter into contracts and arrangements of the type contemplated in this Tender. Fairfield City Council is self-insured where it provides its own insurance to its workers instead of going through an insurance agent.
Being self-insured requires Council additional licensing requirements to ensure it maintains the high standards expected in Work, Health and Safety (WHS). Accordingly, Council must demonstrate that its WHS systems and practices comply with the WHS legal framework including the WHS laws (WHS Act 2011 and WHS Regulation 2017).

Fairfield City Council is seeking tenders from organisation(s) that have appropriate certifications, qualifications, capacity, experience and a high standard of capability who can deliver the best value for money for Lighting and Electrical Design and Construct services. This will include detailed design and construction documentation, procurement of major items, approval from authorities, fabrication and installation of all lighting and their associated electrical components for the project of Fairfield Showground Upgrade.
The Fairfield Showground Upgrade is a multi-part upgrade of the Fairfield Showground to make the space the community's central space for events and outdoor recreation. These stages include the development of three major sports fields, a modern amenities building, new and upgraded grandstands, indoor sporting facility, Fairfield Council's first accessible playground, dog park and a series of walking and cycling tracks.
The Design and Construction of lighting and its associated electrical works is to make the space safe for afterhours use and, in particular, bring a new level of attraction and prestige to the site. Final detailing of the lighting design will enhance the overall design aesthetic and philosophy of the Showground. The tender/construction documentation will include a specification and have a very high level of detailing to reduce ambiguity during construction. The construction of priority 'show piece' items are to be constructed before the end of August 2020.
The design and documentation process is to be undertaken between 31 March 2020 and be completed by the 8 May 2020 or earlier.
