Council is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from suitably qualified contractors interested in carrying out the design and construction of twenty six (26) high quality new signs consisting of eleven (11) LGA Gateway Signs and fifteen (15) suburb marker signs. Samples of the size and shape of these signs can be viewed in the attached documentation.

Generally, these signs are expected to be an engineered galvanised steel frame with aluminium cladding to the external faces. The custom made signs will be up to 4 metres in height and located to avoid impacts on existing underground utility services. These large scale, custom designed signs are intended to improve legibility and brand recognition within Hornsby Shire Council and are to be completed to a high quality fit and finish. The finished signs are expected to be hard wearing and require minimal maintenance.

The project requires the removal of existing signs, survey to identify location of existing services, preparation of site specific documentation for each location, production of shop drawing designs of new signs including engineering design and certification, finalisation of any relevant approvals (such as RMS, utility authorities etc), manufacture and installation of each sign. Some project sites will also require minor landscape site works including demolition of existing footpaths, footpath realignment and minor vegetation removal.
