Meals On Wheels Food Service Provision

⁠⁠⁠Expressions of interest are currently being sought for provision of meals for Council’s Meals on Wheelsprogram in Mudgee as part of the Mid-Western Regional Council’s continued commitment to its community.

Providers are asked to address the following criteria:

•  Confirm that it is licensed under the Vulnerable Persons Food Safety Scheme of the NSW Food Regulation 2015 (NB: Mandatory) and able to comply with the relevant standards associated with the Australian New Zealand Food Standards Code and Guidelines for Food Service to Vulnerable Persons.
•  Outline relevant experience and qualifications or credentials in food service provision.
•  Costings for the provision of a range of meal options including, but not necessarily limited to a main meal, dessert, sandwich, and soup.
•  Ability to prepare a healthy and nutritious meal program that offers a range of meal options to be rotated over a specific period (please specify). You may wish to offer more than one option for program delivery (eg, seasonal meal programs).
•  Ability to adapt to a range of meal service options including dietary requirements (eg, vegetarian, diabetic, low in salt, gluten free, lacteous intolerant, etc) and service requirements (eg, cut up or pureed meals).
•  Minimum and maximum number of meals able to be prepared on a daily basis (Monday to Friday, including public holidays, for delivery at midday).
•  Ability to provide a comfortable space for staff and volunteers (up to seven individuals and four vehicles) waiting to collect meals for delivery.
•  Ability to comply with Council’s Statement of Business Ethics (available on Council’s website) and all relevant policies and procedures.
•  Certificate of Currency of Public Liability Insurance of at least $20 million with Mid-Western Regional Council listed as an interested party.
•  Acceptance of the requirement for all food service employees to undertake a Council induction prior to the commencement of any Meals on Wheels food service preparation and provision.

PLEASE NOTE: If successful, service providers will be required to report specific data to Mid-Western Regional Council, including attendance/participation rates.
