Supply, Delivery and Install of CCTV Cameras in towns within Paroo Shire

⁠⁠⁠Paroo Shire Council (PSC) seeks to upgrade the existing CCTV cameras and install new Wi-Fi CCTV cameras at locations identified by the local Queensland Police Service (QPS). These locations have been summarised and are shown on the map provided in Appendix A.

Paroo Shire Council (PSC) in partnership with Queensland Police Service (QPS) installed 4 CCTV Cameras in 2014 within the Cunnamulla Township. These cameras are maintained by Council but monitored by QPS. In 2017, the Council prioritised $8,000 of its own budget and $60,000 of its Works for Queensland grant to community safety by increasing the CCTV network by 2 and upgrading all cameras to night vision. Council has been working with QPS to improve community infrastructure and encourage positive use of public spaces.

The PSC’s Safer Communities in Cunnamulla project is part of the ongoing improvement and upgrading of the Shire’s community assets to enhance community safety, improve security, and reduce street crime and violence through local security infrastructure that benefits the community. This will contribute to greater community resilience and wellbeing by addressing crime, anti-social behaviour, and other security risks. It will also increase feelings of safety amongst the young people in the Cunnamulla community.
