Cairns Regional Council (Council) has identified the need to provide a dedicated trunk infrastructure network to provide water supply to the service reservoirs in the Cairns Northern Beaches.

Council is inviting submissions from suitably qualified and experienced contractors for the construction of over 2,500m of DN600 trunk water main from Kamerunga Road, Redlynch to the northern bank of the Barron River under the Cairns Western Arterial Road (CWAR) in Lake Placid. The proposed main is primarily of trenched construction, but includes two trenchless crossings underneath the Cairns-Kuranda railway and the CWAR. Approximately 300m of DN600 main is proposed to be fixed to the underside of the Barron River Bridge.
