Carpark & Footpath Resurfacing Programme 2019 2020

⁠⁠⁠Tenders are invited from suitably qualified contractors for the following contract:
Contract 19/36 Carpark & Footpath Resurfacing Programme 2019 2020.

This Contract is part of the 10 year Parks and Reserves Footpath and Carpark Resurfacing Programme. The Contract is to be split into three separable portions; Resurfacing, Kairaki Beach Carpark Improvements and Gritted Paths across various areas in the district.

Separable Portion A includes the resurfacing of existing walkways located at Regent Park in Rangiora and Swannanoa Walkway in Swannanoa and the reseal of Warren Reserve in Eyrewell.

Tasks involved with Separable Portion A are:

• Stripping and resurfacing of the existing surfaces.
• Timber edging removal and installation.
• Top soiling and hydro seeding of affected grassed areas.
• Resurfacing of an existing chip-seal paths.
• Construction of a new soak pit.
• Shaping of a small swale (500mm width by 100mm depth)
• Relevelling and preparing of existing gravel areas and surface defects.
• Asphalt and two coat grade 4/6 reseal of the existing and prepared surfaces.

Separable Portion B includes improvements to Kairaki Beach Carpark, which is located at the end of Featherstone Avenue in Kaiapoi.
This contract seeks to construct and seal a formalised car park area for all recreational users.

Tasks involved with Separable Portion B are:

• The relocation of the existing bollard and wire fence with some additional bollard installations.
• Granular overlay over the existing surface with two coat chip seal.
• Installation of approximately 260m of Kerb and Channel
• Construction of approximately 60m of asphalt footpath
• Construction of approximately 120m of gravel footpath
• Construction of a swale
• Minor drainage works including supply and install of a standard sump, and associated pipework.
• Construction of a new grassed and planted areas.
• Preparing and sealing the newly constructed carpark with a two coat grade 4/6 chip
• Linemarking and signage

Separable Portion C involves the construction of two gritted paths and subsequent road alterations on Mill Road, Cust and South Belt, Rangiora.

Tasks involved with Separable Portion C are:

• Construction of new AP5 gritted paths
• Reconstruction of a traffic island on Pentecost Road / South Belt intersection
• Installation of approximately 10m of 1050mm RCRRJ pipe including swale reshaping
