EOI - Electrical Transmission Line Geotechnical Survey in Tasmania

⁠⁠⁠Geotechnical sampling and testing is required for the design and construction of:

• Mass concrete, rock anchor and bored pile foundations for five hundred and sixty (560) Extra High Voltage lattice steel transmission towers with four (4) discrete foundations per tower. The associated transmission lines are situated in the central North West of Tasmania extending approximately two hundred and twenty kilometres in total length.
• Four (4) Extra High Voltage transmission switching stations situated in the central North West of Tasmania.

All geotechnical investigations may comprise the following type of co-located sampling and testing at specified sites:
1. Soil boring;
2. Test pits and;
3. Other tests relevant to the construction of tip load baring lattice structures.

In addition to the above geotechnical sampling and testing, the work will require laboratory analysis and provision of factual reporting. Works are expected to commence from late March 2020 subject to completion of landowner engagements and access arrangements. These will occur progressively over a period of months and flexibility will be required to adapt the site sampling to the land access constraints. Overall the works are expected to take 10-12 months to complete depending on land availability and the selected contractor's accepted timeline.
