Windale's Corona Street Hall Up for Lease
Tender ID: 403231
Tender Details
Tender Description
A Lake Macquarie hall will provide headquarters for a community group under a Council lease arrangement.
Expressions of interest are now open to lease the Corona Street Hall in Windale, which was once a Girl Guides hall and is now used as a multi-purpose venue for youth.
Lake Macquarie City Council Manager Community Partnerships Andrew Bryant said leasing the facility to a community group aimed to deliver a win-win outcome.
“Having a group take over the site’s management will provide them with a place to call home,” Mr Bryant said.
“It could also be a source of income, with the new lessee permitted to rent the premises out to other groups. On the flipside, the group we select to take over management will be responsible for its care and upkeep.”
Similar arrangements with Council, including Eastlakes U3A’s lease on Belmont Senior Citizens Centre and The Canopy’s lease on Pasterfield Community Centre, have already proved successful.
“We’re confident of a similarly positive outcome for the Corona Street Hall,” Mr Bryant said.
Expressions of interest must be lodged online at https://better.lakemac.com.au/For-business/Tenders-and-expressions-of-interest by 5pm, Monday 2 December.
The successful applicant will go to Council for endorsement early next year.
The site will be open for inspection on Wednesday 13 November from 2-2.30pm.
