The Rural City of Wangaratta (Council) is seeking a suitably qualified contractor to complete construction works associated with the Construction of Replacement Bridges over Hodgson Creek at the following locations:
a. Bridge No. 193 on Kay’s Road, over Hodgson Creek, Tarrawingee VIC 3678; and
b. Bridge No. 162 on Farmer’s Road, over Hodgson Creek, Everton Upper VIC 3678
In December 2018 the bridges failed due to flooding associated with a major storm event and resulted in significant erosion of the banks. That event resulted in the destruction of most of the bridges.
More than 80% of the structure has been destroyed, most of which has washed away downstream as a result.
The objective of the Contract is to supply and install the necessary civil and structural works for the construction of the new SM1600 load rated bridges.
The Work comprises of the demolition of remaining structures, installation of precast driven piles, precast super t beams, mass concrete, bulk earthworks, road pavement, placement of rock beaching, bridge railing, roadside advisory signage, landscaping.
It also includes but is not limited to survey, excavation, removal, construction and associated works as shown in the specification and design drawings.
