Capricorn Highway Gogango Intersection Upgrade

The Queensland Government has nominated Sunwater as the Construction Authority, Operator and Water Marketer for the Rookwood Weir Project (the Project) and has authorised commencement of procurement activity pursuant to the appointment by Sunwater of suitably qualified project delivery partners.

Rookwood Weir will support local economic growth by providing water for future agricultural diversification and industrial development and improved urban water security for Rockhampton, Gladstone and the Capricorn Coast.

Throughout the life of the project, Sunwater will work closely with interested parties to explore all available business opportunities and will engage with future customers as part of its water sales and marketing plan.

The upgrade of the Intersection of Capricorn Highway (Rockhampton – Duaringa) and Third Street at Gogango forms part of the Enabling Works within the overall Rookwood Weir Project. It is an intersection upgrade for ‘improved safety and line of sight’ for traffic turning, off the Capricorn Highway into Gogango and leading to Riverslea Road.

The road upgrade works described above are required in both the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) and Rockhampton Regional Council (RRC) authorised areas. The construction will therefore involve engagement with both parties to complete the road upgrade works.

Sunwater is seeking tender submissions from eligible contractors for the road upgrade works. It is to be noted that only the contractors who are pre-qualified with Department of Transport and Mains Road (DTMR) are eligible to submit tenders. The DTMR pre-qualification levels that are applicable to this tender are as follows:
