Tender Description
Bayside Council invites suitably qualified construction companies to submit a tender for the construction of a new roof to the heritage listed Botany Town Hall building, demolition of the 1966 extension and associated works.
Works include the following:
- Removal of existing roofing to the Botany Town Hall and undertaking of structural inspection of the timber framing. The structural inspection will be undertaken by a Council appointed structural engineered. Please allow for a replacement of up to 10% of the roof structure in provisional sums.
- Re-roofing, guttering and downpipes, including full replacement of all roof battens and insulation in accordance with the detail documentation provided. A structural investigation has been undertaken and included in the tender documentation (Appendix G).
- There is a number of plant items on the roof; some of these are to be removed as part of the roof demolition works, a number of these will need to be reinstalled on the new roof. Council will provide details of which items need to be retained (Appendix K). The tender also includes for the supply and installation of six new whirlybirds (included in provisional sum).
- Demolition of the attached existing Senior Citizens building including capping off all services and grubbing out any strip footings. Making good to heritage walls of the Town Hall and former Post Office after demolition and level and making good of the newly created courtyard area. Supply and install of new fencing to the rear boundary post demolition.
- Pre and post construction dilapidation reports for the building must completed. The reports are to be undertaken by an independent consultant to be approved by Council.
A site inspection will be held at 10am on Wednesday 23 October 2019, the meeting point is the Botany Town Hall, at the Edward Street entrance.
