Tender Description
The Department of Transport and Main Roads invites offers for the provision of a Vacuum Oven for rapid drying compacted asphalt specimens as specified in Section 1 - Requirements.
Specifications and/or scope of works:
Apparatus complying with the following:
- Department of Transport and Main Roads Test Method Q324: Rapid drying of compacted asphalt specimens.
- Jacket heating model, Capable of drying an asphalt slab or beam, Length: 400mm, Width: 300mm, Height 100mm
Vacuum apparatus meeting the following requirements:
- a vacuum pump capable of evacuating the chamber and maintaining a pressure of 6 Torr or less. With automatic vacuum, airflow and temperature control features to allow cycling between vacuum and inflow of “warm” air to ensure drying of the specimens at close to room temperatures. (Q324 note 5.1)
- water removable plate, used for removing free water from the bottom of the vacuum chamber, and
- electronic cold trap with an airflow divider, used for trapping water before it enters the vacuum pump.
