Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠Renewal of concrete kerb and channel in various streets in Turangi.

This is a measure and value contract to supply all plant, labour and materials required to remove the existing kerb and channel and replace with new concrete kerb and channel on the same or similar vertical and horizontal alignment.
 

The Contract includes the following works:

  • Removal and disposal of existing concrete kerb and channel.
  • Liaise with Council's arborist for any work in the vicinity of trees or tree roots.
  • Preparation and Construction of new concrete kerb and channel.
  • Footpath and vehicle crossing construction work to align with new kerb and channel.
  • Carriageway surfacing to align with new kerb and channel.
  • Site reinstatement including top-soiling and grass establishment.
  • Erection and maintenance of erosion and sediment control structures.
  • Mitigation measures against cement and pumice entering the stormwater systems and environment.
  • The alignment of the footpath shall be on the same or similar vertical and horizontal alignment or agreed on site with the Engineer.

In order to achieve the above works, the Contractor must make provision for the following:

  • Apply for TDC for a CAR to carry out works with the local road reserve section, including traffic management plan approvals from TDC.
  • The provision to undertaken all works in full compliance with the Taupo District Council Contractor Requirements.
  • The provision and maintenance of traffic control during the works, including pedestrian management and safety around work areas.
  • The provision and implementation of a health and safety plan, quality plan and programming including updates where required.
  • Locate existing services/drainage/infrastructure and reporting to Engineer actual layout prior to commencement of works.
  • Potholing existing services/drainage at prescribed locations to determine presence/location.
  • The provision to adhere to an accidental discovery protocol in the event of encountering an archaeological artefact.
  • Liaise with service/drainage authorities to locate and protect existing sewer, stormwater, water supply, gas, power and telecom cables.
  • Liaison with property owners as to period of works and advance disruption notices.
  • Sawcutting pavements, topsoil stripping, excavations, bedding, backfilling, compacting, testing and reinstatement.
  • Prepare mark-up as-built drawings where the new alignment differs from the design.

All works are to be in accordance with this Specification, or as directed by the Engineer.

The Contractor is to confirm the availability of all materials, plant, personnel and subcontractors at time of Tender. Any costs or delays in the contract that are due to the lack of availability should be incorporated into the submitted tender rates.
