Invitation for Expression of Interest (McLeod Street and Swallow Road, Cairns)

⁠⁠⁠Energy Queensland is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) Proposals in response to this invitation from the Cairns construction market to identify suitably qualified suppliers able to deliver value for money in respect of the provision of certain construction services.

This Invitation is the first stage in a two-stage procurement process:

• Stage 1 - achieve a shortlist of suitably qualified and experienced local Cairns construction companies to invite to Stage 2 – Tender for 10599 Package 1 - McLeod Street Refurbishment, 10593 Package 2 - Swallow Road Development and 10594 Package 3 - McLeod Street Redevelopment Projects.
• Stage 2 - each Package will be tendered separately to the shortlist identified in Stage 1 – Invitation for Expressions of Interest.

Indicative timelines are:

• Package 1 - 10599 McLeod Street Training & Development Buildings 1 & 2 Refurbishment – February to June 2020
• Package 2 - 10593 Swallow Road Development - April to November 2020
• Package 3 - 10594 Phase 1 McLeod Street (remainder of site) Demolition – contingent on PC of McLeod St Buildings 1&2 refurbishment completion, potentially early July 2020.
• Package 3 - 10594 Phase 2 McLeod Street (remainder of site) Redevelopment – contingent on completion of Package 2 Swallow Road.

Shortlisted respondents for the Swallow Road Development & McLeod Street Redevelopment Projects from Stage 1 may be invited to a closed tender by EQL for future procurement activities for any similar works in the Far North Region for a period of up to 12 months. If substantial time has lapsed from EOI to tender/construction for Package 3 EQL reserve the right to refresh shortlist.

Shortlisted respondents for McLeod Street Refurbishment from Stage 1 may be invited to Property Construction Panel 10582 by EQL for future procurement activities for any similar works in the Far North Region.

Current suppliers on the Property Construction Panel 10582 need not reapply for this EOI as they will be invited to tender for work within their licence class.
