DFES Corporate Systems Market Sounding

⁠⁠⁠The Department of Fire and Emergency Services is transforming corporate services. By corporate services, we mean finance, human resources (HR) and asset management. By transformation, we know the change is about our people, culture, processes as well as systems.

What we are proposing is a market sounding process that is designed to show us how we could transform our corporate services. Rather than going through a traditional procurement process where we send extensive lists of requirements to vendors based on the way we already work, we want to understand what is possible, how we could work differently, and how to approach this significant business transformation. What we learn in this market sounding process will help us to define the approach for our project, business case and implementation.

We have made an organisational decision that we are committed to an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution - but we also have some specific challenges that relate to personnel roster management. What we want to do is meet with vendors who meet our criteria at an ‘expo’ style event. If you are invited to attend the event, you’ll be provided with your own space (booth) to excite our senior leadership (and leaders from other State Government departments) with your vision for how we could work better, and how you can help us get to that goal.

The ‘expo’ will be held in the Perth Metropolitan Area in early December 2019. Suitable vendors will be invited to attend. Details will be provided to vendors directly.

We're interested in talking to providers of fully integrated solutions which cover, as a minimum, finance, HR and asset management OR a stand-alone personnel rostering solution which can integrate into contemporary ERP solutions. The solutions must be vendor supported, cloud-based and suitable for an organisation of DFES’ size and scale (1,600 staff, 30,000 volunteers).
