PNCC are seeking an experienced contractor to perform planned and unplanned maintenance on its MWM TCG2016 716kW(e) cogeneration gas engine and generator for a Fixed Term, NZS 3917 Measure and Value, Contract of 2 years, with the potential to roll over into a further year if KPI's are met

The engine is located at the Totara Road Wastewater Treatment Plant, where heat produced by the engine is used to maintain two anaerobic digesters at operating temperature. The engine is fuelled by a mixture of digester gas and landfill gas, collected from the adjacent, closed, Awapuni landfill

The gas engine has completed 26,158 hrs to date and has recently undergone a partial rebuild. Maintenance to date has followed the MWM service programme modified by agreement after review of condition monitoring reports

PNCC's objective is to optimise the mix between

•  Engine availability (engine run hours)
•  Maintenance cost per kWhr generated

PNCC understands that engine availability is primarily affected by fuel gas availability, which is outside of the control of the Contractor. However, it is expected that both parties work together to optimise the balance between availability and maintenance costs.
