Tender Description

The following Scope of Work is required to be performed by the Contractor for all six (6) bores:

  • Downhole CCTV - a before camera run and again after completion of the cleaning;
  • Any equipment used in the existing bores must be sterilised;
  • Perform cleaning/redevelopment of the six (6) bores, to remove blockages, sediments and debris from the screen. Report RTIO-PDE-0147259 can be used as a guide as to what can be expected within the bore casing;
  • The techniques to be used for removal/stabilisation of the bore shall be specified by the Contractor and include but not be limited to:
  • Air lifting and jetting;
  • Surging;
  • Bailing; and
  • Chemical cleaning;
  • Whatever mechanical method is used (if selected to perform cleaning) the cleaning process should involve techniques that progress from gentle to vigorous agitation;
  • It is expected that no more than two bores will be down at any given time. The Contractor shall provide an indicative schedule of the anticipated work time;
  • Test pumping activities of the six (6) bores including but not limited to:
  • Water level measurement must be completed by the Contractor in the pumping bore and in all nominated observation bores; and
  • The Contractor must measure and record the static water level, clock time, elapsed time, the pumping water level and the discharge rate.
  • Where bore and aquifer conditions permit, the aquifer testing will comprise the following steps:

1. Step Test

  • Up to five (5) multiple rate discharge tests must be conducted by the Contractor, as instructed by the Utilities Representative. Each step will be conducted at an increased discharge rate for a duration of up to 100 minutes (as specified by the Utilities Representative). Water level readings (and calculated drawdowns) must be taken by the Contractor;
  • The exact time of obtaining each measurement must be recorded by the Contractor;
  • Should pumping be interrupted for any reason or should the Contractor fail to maintain the yield constant, a new test must be commenced after an appropriate recovery period, as specified by the Utilities Representative;
  • Allowance must be made by the Contractor to provide an adequate means to control all discharge water during testing and convey it, by way of appropriate diameter piping, to the specified distance from the bore head; and
  • The Contractor must ensure that disposal of all water is such that it prevents surface erosion or damage to property, subject to the Scope of Work requirements and a water discharge management plan provided by the Utilities Representative.

2. Recovery Tests

  • Recovery Tests on each bore must be conducted by the Contractor after completion of the Step Tests and Constant Rate Tests. Following pump shut-off, water level readings (and residual drawdowns) must be taken by the Contractor;
  • The Contractorr must ensure during the recovery phase of testing that the pump remains in the bore until approval is provided by the Utilities Representative for it to be removed from the bore;
  • If any Step Test is interrupted due to plant failure or any other reason for any period of time, it will be at the discretion of the Utilities Representative that the test be repeated after allowing time for the aquifer to adequately recover;
  • If the bore and aquifer conditions will not permit accurate testing, the Contractor must obtain approval from the Utilities Representative in relation to any proposed course of action that may be taken; and
  • Upon completion of the works, the Contractor shall clean up and restore the site as far as practicable to a condition unlikely to endanger animals or persons, or to cause a nuisance, to the satisfaction of the nominated Utilities Representative.
