Tender Description
The scope of work is the construction of the new steps at Back Beach, in the Paritutu Centennial Park, New Plymouth. The steps are a combination of in-ground formed timber steps, which commence immediately below the existing viewing platform. Below this is a length of elevated timber landings and stairs. The final section of the steps, just above the beach, is a prefabricated section of concrete steps, with a rock revetment.
The steps can be accessed at the top end from the Centennial Marine Carpark, off Centennial Drive, New Plymouth; and at the bottom end, from the beach. The beach can be accessed from the Centennial Lower Carpark, also off Centennial Drive.
Beach access is available for vehicles and machinery, but is restricted by high tides. Access from the Centennial Marine Carpark is by foot only.
The Successful Respondent will provide all equipment, materials (except for the concrete steps which will be supplied free of charge, and are available to be collected from the NPDC Hobson St depot, New Plymouth) and other resources to complete the construction of the steps.
