Tender Description
Edward River Council is launching it’s $100,000 dollar-for-dollar CBD Painting and Signage Project today and is encouraging eligible local business and land owners to apply by submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI).
Mayor Norm Brennan said the project will enable building owners and businesses in the Deniliquin Central Business District to beautify their shopfronts.
“The dollar-for-dollar Painting and Signage Project is available to shop fronts along Napier and Cressy Street and is focused on cosmetic upgrades to enhance the appearance of shop fronts and signage, in turn creating a more welcoming and visually appealing CBD,” Cr. Brennan said.
“Council believes that bright, welcoming CBD areas will encourage patronage, boost community pride and help increase economic support for local businesses.”
“Applicants have the opportunity to choose from three project elements, including façade painting, signage, and/or upgrading other external façade and aesthetics of the building. They can choose one element, a combination of elements or all three,” he said.
Through the Drought Communities Programme, Edward River Council will fund 50% of the total works at each location, up to $10,000 per business.
The dollar-for-dollar Painting and Signage Project is one of six priority projects identified by Edward River Council to share in $1 million under the Australian Government’s Drought Communities Programme.
Applications must be submitted online by Friday, 6 September 2019 at 5:00pm.
Applicants will be notified of results on Friday, 20 September 2019 with works to commence the following month.
All projects must be completed by Monday, 16 December 2019.
