Towing Services

Whangarei District Council (WDC) are reviewing the provision of their vehicle towing services.

The process will be a two staged open market process:
* Registration of Interest (ROI)
* Request for Proposal (RFP)

This ROI is the first formal step in the process and is intended to be of minimal effort for respondents and allow WDC to create a short list of suppliers to invite to enter the RFP process.

Towing services support the parking enforcement team, which is currently delivered by a contractor through a third party contract. These are mostly for:

• parking in clearways
• vehicles that are a traffic hazard or obstruction

Key services include:

• clearway on call
• call outs
• vehicle tow
• clearways
• non-clearways
• vehicle storage and vehicle release
• after hours vehicle release
• records
• compliance
• meeting and reporting

Abandoned vehicles may also be brought into scope.
