Tender Description

Wellington City Council (WCC) have endorsed and approved Wellington Water Limited (WWL) to build a new reservoir to enhance the city’s drinking water supply. The project is a key part of Wellington’s water resilience programme.

The Omāroro Reservoir project involves construction of a new 35,000m3/35Ml reservoir asset for WCC within the Town Belt in the Prince of Wales Park. The reservoir is to be fully buried and includes various pipeline connections to adjacent water networks. The reservoir will supply water to the Wellington Low Level Water Supply Zone, providing drinking water to approximately 70,000 residents and a range of significant commercial, industrial and community facilities.

Statement of Interest and Ability (SIA) is invited from suitably experienced contractors interested in being short-listed as prospective tenderers for the design and construction of the Omāroro Reservoir. This SIA short listing is the first stage in a two-stage procurement process. More detailed and specific attribute information will be requested in the second stage, through a separate Request for Tender (RFT). Shortlisted tenderers will be required to participate in a collaborative value engineering phase during the tender period. From the SIA submissions, two to three tenderers will be selected to submit a tender for the Contract Works (second stage).
