The CRJO provides a forum for councils, State agencies and other stakeholders to work together at a regional level to identify shared priorities. This will help to deliver important regional projects, delivering better outcomes for communities.

The region covers an area of 45,000 square kilometres and has a total population of approximately 271,000. The CRJO has a Regional Waste and Resource Recovery Working Group (the Working group) supported by the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA).

The CRJO is looking to partner with a suitably qualified Contractor for the provision of the yearly household chemical clean up events in 8 council areas in the region. The collection is being undertaken as the chemicals pose a considerable risk to the environment, public and occupational health.

It is proposed that the collection will be carried out during weekends between July and November 2019. These collections provide a service to the residents to dispose of their household chemicals free of charge. The councils involved in the household chemical clean up for 2019 are:
