Digital Black Production Printers

⁠⁠⁠The University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Printing Services Branch (PSB) primary role is to provide digital printing and binding services to the University community.

UTS Printing Services is looking to replace two black production presses similar in capability to the existing Canon VP135 and Oce/Canon VP6320.

Press 1, (Canon VP135) will be replaced within 2019 and Press 2 (Oce/Canon VP6320) will be replaced within 2020 subject to budget approval.

Press 2 will be replaced with a slower speed printer as per description within "schedule 2 Digital black production printers RFT questions" "Mandatory requirements sheet" and purchased subject to budget approval.

The replacement printer for press 1 will be digital black production press equivalent in capability to the existing Canon VP135 and attached components. The replacement device for press 1 will be rated at a minimum of 135ppm and required to produce a minimum volume of 4.1 million black impressions per annum. The printer will also be capable of a peak volume of 1 million impressions per month.

The replacement printer for press 2 will be a digital black production press equivalent in capability except for output speed to the existing Oce/Canon VP6320 and attached components. The replacement device for press 2 will be rated at between 150ppm and 288ppm and be capable of producing a minimum volume of 9.1 million black impressions per annum. The printer will also be capable of a peak volume of 1.7 million impressions per month.

The tenderer will be required to supply costs based on an outright purchase for proposed equipment plus additional optional attachments.

The vender will be required to remove the existing Canon VP135 and Oce/Canon VP6320 from UTS property as part of the tender. The vendor will also be required to provide ongoing maintenance, consumables and operational support of the proposed equipment for a minimum of five years.
