Tender Description
The Ministry is seeking responses from suitably qualified respondents to complete main contractor works at the Auckland High Court.
The need to procure a main contractor has arisen because of the operational need to relocate the Court of Appeal to the Auckland High Court from their existing premises at Lorne Street prior to the lease expiry on November 2020.
The Ministry has already engaged an engineer to contract, architects, structural engineers and quantity surveyors to complete the initial scoping and design phase.
This means that we are not seeking responses from sub-trades or those professions noted above.
These works will require:
• A main contractor to procure all sub-trades required to complete a multi-million dollar construction contract.
• Demolitions and construction works to create a new non-custodial courtroom on the Lower Ground Floor.
• Demolitions and construction works to facilitate the relocation of the Court of Appeal Hearing Centre into the historic part of the Auckland High Court
The key objective/s of this procurement is to engage a main contractor who can complete the remedial works to a high standard, safely, and within budget.
