Randwick Council invites tenders for the operation and management of the new Heffron Park Tennis Centre. It is envisaged that the successful tenderer will be able to demonstrate a background in successful management of a sporting facility or a commercial facility or venture supported by strong financial and community management skills. Randwick City Council is seeking suitable applicants to manage the tennis facility to service the wider community and attract new participation to the site through quality programming, community and school partnership and casual court usage. The venue includes a club room, office and pro-shop/kiosk which can be used to service limited food and beverages offering to create a positive social environment.

Randwick Council proposed to enter into a management and maintenance agreement for the Heffron Park Tennis Centre for a period of five (5) years plus five (5) years.

The Heffron Park Tennis Centre is located on the western edge of Heffron Park. Heffron Park (R72933) is Crown Reserve notified on 17 December 1948 for the purpose of public recreation, the affairs of which are managed by Randwick City Council. The Heffron Park Tennis Centre covers an area of approximately 9,480m2 and comprises ten (10) floodlit tennis courts, comprising a mix of acrylic hardcourt and synthetic turf courts, Club Room including an office, proshop/kiosk, male, female and accessible amenities, and viewing deck. The Council's aim is to engage an organisation or individual to manage the Centre in a manner that addresses community needs, meets Council's and the community's expectations in terms of the quality of service provision, management, operation and marketing of the Centre/s. The expected outcome for a Centre is an increase in patronage and profit return. The successful applicant will be required to enter into a formal lease agreement for with Randwick City Council.
