Essential Energy invites responses from suitably qualified organisations in relation to rolling out emergency beacons to all fleet vehicles. The beacons will provide a robust emergency location mechanism for all workers. The workforce is highly mobile and geographically sparse, operating all over NSW in regional and remote locations from southern QLD to Broken Hill.
Equipping all vehicles with GPS enabled locator beacons (e.g. PLB or EPIRB) has been identified as a duress option capable of:
* Covering 100% of Essential Energy's work area
* Ensuring a reliable emergency response
Beacons will be provisioned to Essential Energy's fleets of approximately 1200 light vehicles, 500 heavy vehicles and 100 all-terrain vehicles (ATV). They must be:
* Rugged as to remain operable in the event of a motor vehicle accident
* Portable to enable removal from the vehicle by lone workers or for deployment in emergency
* Able to be mounted or otherwise tethered to the vehicle at all other times
Submissions:
Respondents will receive a Successful Submission Receipt timed and dated upon completion.
