Rio Tinto (Company) is a global mining group that focuses on finding, mining and processing mineral resources.
The Company has a requirement for physiotherapy services on an as required basis for Company Personnel and contractors who have been authorised by the Company (Services). The Service Provider must perform the Services either:
(a) at various RTIO Sites in Western Australia;
(b) at the Service Provider’s premises (Perth / Dampier, Karratha and Tom Price);
(d) at any new Sites that are commissioned during the contract term.
The Services include, but are not limited to, the provision of acute physiotherapy assessment and physiotherapy treatment, including:
(a) work related injuries (WR);
(b) non-work related (NWR) injuries impacting upon capacity for work;
(c) off Site support (telehealth consultations);
(d) the provision of manual handling training using a Company approved equivalent manual handling training system;
(e) manual handling and ergonomic risk assessments;
(f) the professional development for emergency management professionals and health professionals as requested by the Company (Musculoskeletal First Aid)
(g) the provision of functional capacity (FCE) / Fitness for Work (FFW) evaluations as requested by the Company’s Site. FCE’s /FFW evaluations will be requested by the Company in accordance with the following sub- categories:
(i) return to work assessment;
(ii) pre-employment assessment; and
(iii) comprehensive FCE;
(h) the development and upgrade of existing job role profiles (JRPs) as requested by the Company (JRP’s to be accessible by the Company at all times and remain the IP of the Company)
(i) the provision of professional advice to H&S Personnel and Site leadership as requested by the Company Representative in accordance with, but not limited to the following sub-categories:
(i) injury management;
(ii) Injury Prevention
(iii) musculoskeletal trending;
(j) Services relating to hazard identification, exposure evaluation and identification of controls relating to manual task and workplace
Ergonomic management. Subcategories may include:
(i) Risk assessment of manual tasks
(ii) Vibration assessments
(iii) Seat or Cab assessments
The Company has a requirement for return to work assessments to be performed, either by physiotherapists being located in regional Western Australia or in Perth.
The Service Provider must supply all associated goods where required to carry out the Services, including but not limited to, the following:(a) ultrasound machines;
(b) load cells;
(c) functional capacity evaluation equipment; and
(d) all other technical equipment to perform the Services ie telehealth, manual handling risk assessment tools; and
(e) provision of data systems and technology platforms to support service provision, i.e. provision of Telehealth services via the Company’s platform or an approved service provider platform (at no additional cost to the Company).
The Service Provider must work with approved local providers where possible to deliver physiotherapy services to the Company.
