Tender Description
Aging infrastructure, changing community expectations, reducing volunteer capacity, complex regulatory environment and demographic changes are leading to a large build-up of backlog maintenance, despite the best efforts of Crown Land Managers (CLMs) and volunteers.
A small pilot project identified the main themes identified which can be expected across the portfolio:
* Fire Safety; Infrastructure, Compliance and Emergency egress
* Electrical Safety; Mains sub-boards and meter boxes
* Grandstand structures
* Temporary seating
* Structures at-end-of-life
It is understood that DoI Crown Lands needs to face up to these issues and assist CLMs to continue to deliver the vital community services provided on showgrounds, however funding and resources do not permit the department to address all issues at once.
This contract aims to address urgent safety issues and enable the department to assist CLMs to manage the backlog of maintenance and enhance knowledge of the asset class.
