Tender Description
Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service, in partnership with the Queensland Government, is building a new emergency department at Gladstone Hospital. This project will double the capacity of the existing facility and enable the hospital to meet future demands of a growing and ageing population, and improve the clinical capability, patient care and user comfort.
The scope of the project generally includes but is not limited to:
* Clearing of the existing carpark site and removal of existing oxygen tank to enable construction of the new Emergency Department
* Construction of a single storey Emergency Department on the site of the existing carpark at the southern end of the hospital, and
* Construction of a link from the new Emergency Department to the existing building.
On completion, the new Emergency Department will consist of Acute, Fast Track, Resus, Paediatric and Short Stay Zones, in addition to a new Medical Imaging Zone. Site infrastructure will be upgraded as necessary to support the construction of the new department. This includes additional chilled water plant, upgrading the main switchboard and provision of a new oxygen VIE.
