Tender Description
The Cancer Care Service (CCS) at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH) is the largest service in Queensland. The service encompasses Medical Oncology, Haematology and Bone Marrow Transplant, the Queensland Hemophilia Centre and Radiation Oncology, and provides all treatment modalities within these streams.
An integral part of CCS, the Radiation Oncology Department provides state-of-the-art cancer therapy and compassionate patient care in close collaboration with pathologists, oncologists, surgeons and other cancer specialists. A Radiotherapy Treatment Planning System (RTP) uses x-ray image data and dosimetric data to help clinicians determine the optimum treatment parameters to match the prescribed dose and constraints.
CCS Radiotherapy RTP is at the end of its life with limited support and therefore needs to be upgraded. CCS delivers approximately 1,700 courses of megavoltage radiation therapy per annum and the RTP uses x-ray image data and dosimetric data to help clinicians determine the optimum treatment parameters to match the prescribed dose and constraints.
