Tender Description
The Department of State Growth invites expressions of interest from individuals seeking appointment as a member of the Theatre Royal Management Board.
The Board’s functions, powers and other relevant information, are detailed in the Theatre Royal Management Act 1986 (the Act).
As per Section 5 A of the Act, the Board’s objectives are:
* to enable the provision to the community of culturally enriching performing arts;
* to provide entertaining, educational or thought-provoking live performances;
* to promote the profile of the Theatre Royal as a contemporary and historic performing arts venue;
* to assist the development of local technical, production and performance skills;
* to operate the Theatre Royal as a venue for hire;
* to assist to define the strategic asset maintenance needs of the Theatre Royal in keeping with its heritage values.
Candidates with local business experience, proven communication skills and/or experience in the creative industries are specifically sought.
In addition, candidates with skills, knowledge and expertise to support and contribute to good governance and other relevant matters will be held in high regard. Expressions of interest should specifically address your capabilities in relation to these matters.
The appointment will be for a term of up to three years. The Board meets in Hobart and remuneration will be $4 942 per annum, plus reasonable out-of-pocket expenses incurred in conducting the business of the Board.
