Provision and Coordination of the Keeping Safe: Child Protection Curriculum Professional Learning Program

⁠⁠⁠ITS 19/04774 Under the Children’s Protection Act 1993 the Department for Education has a legislated responsibility with other agencies to protect children and young people under 18 years of age from abuse in its own settings and in the wider community.

It is a requirement under the Child Protection in Schools, Early Childhood Education and Care Services policy that:
* All children and young people in the departmental preschools and schools will access approved child protection curriculum training each year;
* The approved child protection curriculum will be taught by staff that have received training in its use.

The Keeping Safe: Child Protection Curriculum (KS:CPC) is a respectful relationships and child safety curriculum for children and young people from age 3 to year 12. The Curriculum has been mandated in all Department for Education sites. The department currenlty outsources the delivery and coordination of the KS:CPC professional learning training program and seeks to continue this arrangment under a new Agreement with a successful service provider.
