There has been significant population growth recently in the Cairns northern beaches. In order to balance potable water supply from the clean water reservoirs in the area, the requirement for a new water main has been identified to support services to Yorkeys Knob by providing an alternative flow path for supplies from the north.

Cairns Regional Council is inviting submissions from suitably qualified and experienced contractors for the construction of a new DN375 water main along Dunne Road between Smithfield Village Drive and Yorkeys Knob Road. The proposed main will be installed by a combination of trenched construction and horizontal directional drilling.

The tender closes at 4:30pm on Tuesday 26 February 2019.
