Tender ID: 375697
Tender Details
Tender Description
The Domiciliary Equipment Service (DES) is a business unit within the Department of Human Services (DHS), originally established in 1996.
DES manages the equipment and home modification needs of approximately 15,000 people in South Australia, including clients from the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), DHS, Lifetime Support Scheme, hospitals and community care agencies and people privately hiring equipment.
Reform in the aged care sector and the introduction of the NDIS have resulted in changes to the way people access and receive disability and aged care services.
As a result of clients being able to access services directly from the community and non-government sector (NGS), Cabinet has approved a market process to occur prior to 30 June 2019, to determine a NGS provider.
To facilitate this transfer, Cabinet has approved DHS, in partnership with the Department of Treasury and Finance’s (DTF) Commercial and Economics Branch (CEB), commencing a competitive market process, including subsequent procurement processes.
The first stage of the engagement with the market will be a Market Sounding process, led by the CEB in partnership with DHS.
