Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠Services for Operation of an Animal Pound.

Council is seeking tenders from suitably qualified and experienced companies for the provision of pound services or a panel of veterinary clinics and/or animal shelters to carry out pound services. Council may also consider the provision of overnight holding facilities by veterinary clinics and/or animal shelters. Council will be responsible for the pickup and delivery of animals.

It is anticipated that the pound service provider will consist up to 3 service providers, although Council reserves the right to vary these numbers in accordance with its specific needs and may also appoint organisations outside the contracted service providers in specific circumstances.

The scope of the tender includes:
* Conduct the operation of a Council Pound from the Premises
* Admit all Seized Companion Animals
* The management and control of the Pound under the terms and conditions set by Council.
* Provide monthly reporting to council detailing Pound Statistics including statutory reporting requirements to the Office of Local Government.

Council may consider the following options;
a) Pound Services
The maintenance, detention, and lawful release to owner, sale or euthanasia of dogs, cats, and in rare cases other livestock, found straying, reported as strays, surrendered by owner to Police or Council officers, or otherwise drawn to Council's attention and is within Northern Beaches Council.

Panel of veterinary clinics and/or animal shelters to carry out pound services. This option will only be considered if the facility is within 20km's radius of Northern Beaches Council's Civic Centre, Dee Why and there is enough capacity within the panel to service Council's requirements.

b) Holding Facility
Panel of veterinary clinics and/or animal shelters within 20 km's radius of Northern Beaches Council's Civic Centre, Dee Why to house animals up to 72 hours.

The Contract term will be 3 years with an extension at Council's option of 2 x 12 months.

Tenders close at 2pm on 7th February 2019 and must be fully received by this time.
