Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠Design and construct tamper workshop extension including extension and duplication of pit at the workshop. The scope of works for the project includes:
* Survey works and services location. Investigation on existing site constraints, such as unknown underground services at 6 Mile workshop.
* Design works to include extension of tamper workshop, extension of existing maintenance pit, installation of a new maintenance pit on the Western track, chemical sump in the pits, 7m long concrete apron outside Northern roller doors and new utility services. Where existing building is impacted, the required modification to the existing building shall be included as part of the scopes, such as relocation of roller doors, wall and roof extension, etc.
* A new side roller door is to be installed on the Western wall to allow for the access of 5 tonne (t) forklift that is required for tamper head replacement works.
* Northern roller doors are to be relocated to further North to enclose the equipment entirely, and provide sufficient distance between roller doors and pits to facilitate the manoeuvre of 5t forklift around pits.
* Level of the concrete floor and rail tracks are to be re-designed to facilitate indoor wash-down. Drainage on the floor and in the maintenance pits are to be covered as part of the building drainage design.
* Removable guardrail around pits are to be designed and installed for safety purpose and flexible space utilisation in the workshop.
* The building is to be cyclone proof. All required works to be completed in accordance with Rio Tinto, Australian and BCA standards and guidelines.
* Obtaining required legislative permits including Development Approval (DA) and Building Permit (BP) from the City of Karratha, before works commence onsite.
* Mobilisation and demobilisation of all required labour, plant and equipment.
* Supply, transportation, unloading, storage of all required material, plant and equipment.
* Undertaking construction works as per approved building plans and permits.
* Drawings, reports and details to be developed and documented to provide clear direction of the required works, and assist in effective maintenance of the new assets.
